This is a song I wrote during my stay in England when we were sleeping in a cabin in the backyard. Often when I'd walk up to the house in the pitch dark, I'd here a crunch under my foot and It would be a snail. Because they were everywhere.
This song is about how I've portrayed myself in the past and those poor little snails.

Instantaneous Relief
But in the end, It's always misleading, feel-good feelings.
That vanish once they're done deceiving me. I've got a suitcase full of greedy, greedy interpretations of who I'd like to be.

But I'm no use at all, projecting false demeanor.
Talking like an energy ball that's spun out of control.
Telling people things they couldn't care less about.
Telling my self that it's nothing to stress about.

Oh, but It's such a god-awful sound, the pounding in my head.
Repeating things I said, my deepest thoughts that I so foolishly blared.
To any Tom, Dick or Harry that happened to walk by.
Harry thinks I'm mad but Tom says's I'm right.

Oh but, I'm not anyone who means much of anything.
Life is a time flies packaged deal, you don't always get to sit back and think.
What am I really doing here? What am I really doing here in this place? With this mind that so often hangs me out to dry.

Stepping on snails in the dark at night. I'm sorry little guy, I never meant to hurt you. x2

And I can't help noticing that in the end, it's always misleading, feel-good feelings.
